I saw Twirling Book Princess post this tag today (go check it out) and I thought it was a perfect tag to do today. Although things are starting to open back up, we are all still being told to stay at home and I think its important to remember that we are only supposed to leave the house for work, exercise or essential trips.
This tag was originally created by Ellyn @ allonsythornraxx.
1) What are you currently reading?

I am kind of cheating saying that I am reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold because I have just finished it and my review will be posted tomorrow. However, I haven’t yet picked the next book that I am going to read because I have quite a few options. I didn’t start a new book last night because I started White Lines, a new series on Netflix, and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a series to watch.
2) What is your favourite “can’t leave the house” activity?
One of my favourite things that has come out of being on lockdown has been the weekly Saturday night group Zoom calls with my friends. I think it has brought us closer during lockdown and has helped me to have some social interaction, even if it is only virtual!
3) What book have you been meaning to read forever?

I mean really should I be calling myself a book blogger when I haven’t read a single Jane Austen classic? This has been one I have been meaning to read forever but I am just never in the mood. I definitely just need to knuckle down and get on with it.
4) An intimidating book on your TBR

My dad would be so proud of me for having this on my TBR list but I never seem to actually read it. The fact that it is 1396 pages means that it really intimidates me as I have never read a book of this size. I like to start and finish books quite quickly and this is not the book for that kind of reading! Saying that though, I would one day love to have read this novel.
5) Top three priority books on your TBR
Aside from the books I have been given to review through NetGalley (got to keep my percentage up) it is hard to pick just three!
- Daisy Jones and the Six by – I seen so many good reviews about this book and couldn’t believe it when it was on the Kindle Store for 99p!
- The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes – I have just borrowed this from the library and have it for 3 weeks so I just need to make sure I finish it in time.
- The Perfect Couple by Jackie Kabler – I was kindly bought this from my Amazon wish list (link at the bottom) and I cannot wait to read this.
6) Recommend a short book

Although it has been a couple of years since I last read this novel it has still stuck with me. It is only 24 pages so perfect for feeling accomplished for finishing a book without having to be reading it for hours and even though it is short it really packed a punch with me. The Kindle version is also free making it even better.
7) Recommend a long book
I have to be honest I don’t make a habit of reading long books, I don’t think I have read a book over 500 pages in a long time.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt is around 550 pages and you may already know that I love this book. It may not be the fastest paced book, but what long book is? Nothing can compare to Donna Tartt’s writing style.
8) Something you love to do while being stuck at home
Now that the weather is picking up I absolutely love being in the garden reading. I know it sounds strange in a “Stuck At Home” tag to say I like being outside but, for me, it is really important to be outside because it lifts my mood and helps me to feel less trapped. Even if it is walking and listening to music, small periods of time outside really help.
9) What are you planning to read next?
I am planning to read a book I have been gifted next I think. I have an ever growing list of books I need to read and I am always conscious of mixing books I have been asked to review with those that I have chosen to read as I never want reading to feel like a chore. I want to make sure that I am always enjoying reading.
Tag you’re it…
I nominate Jessica, Tasha Louise and Ashley.
There is no pressure to participate! Even if you haven’t been tagged, everyone is welcome to try this book tag, it was so much fun to do.
Do you have a suggestion for the next book to add to my bookshelf? Let me know in comments.Β Β
